In a few days the OpenOffice.org Conference 2009 take place in Orvieto. I'll give there two presentations. On 4. November I speak about OpenOffice.org Portable and a new built enviroment for this special version of OpenOffice.org. This environment will make it very easy to create a new portable version.

On the 5th of November 2009 I'm going to give a presentation about OOoPortable at the OOoCon 2009 in Orivieto / Italy. There are some new features in the development pipe and I'll present them at the conference.

Tomorrow the LinuxTag 2009 opens his doors. The LinuxTag is a very important place for Linux and open source software in Europe.
There are a special day with presentation about and around OpenOffice.org on Friday, 26th of June. I'll give a presentation about OpenOffice.org Portable at 10.00 o'clock on Friday morning. I'm looking forward to meet you in Berlin at the LinuxTag on Friday ;-)

On Sunday, the 8th of March I will give a presentation about OpenOffice.org Portable 3.0.1 at the Cebit 2009. My presentation take place in the OpenSouce Forum / Hall 6 at 1:00 pm.

I gave today a presentation about OpenOffice.org Portable on the OOoConference in Beijing. My presentation covers an overview about the usage, the technique behind, the installer, the known issues and the benefits for the user and the marketing of OpenOffice.org. There are many visiters of my presentation interested in getting a localised version.
I pointed them to the portableApps page to speek up, that there is a need for their language.
After the presentation I had a longer discussion with some very interesting people and gave a live demo of OOoPortable.

Since OpenOffice.org 3.0 rc4 is out, I worked with Marko on a Release Candidate for OpenOffice.org Portable 3.0. There are many things done now, but we have to find solutions for some issues. This may consume some time, so we are not sure, if we are able to get out a release in October. Finally we had to do some tests to make shure, that OOoPortable 3.0 works properly.

Today the RC3 of OpenOffice.org 3.0 is out. So I started the work for OpenOffice.org Portable 3.0 rc3 in collaboration with Marko. I hope we are able to finish this work at the end of this week.

Nachdem gestern die aktuelle Version 3.0 m5 von OpenOffice.org verfügbar ist, habe ich gestern Abend von der englischen Version (en-US) ein portables OpenOffice.org zu Testzwecken erstellt. Nach einem ersten Test funktioniert das erstellte Paket so wie erwartet. Ich hoffe, es schnellst möglich für einen Download zur Verfügung stellen zu können, damit die Version von verschiedenen Personen getestet werden kann. Eventuell ist es dann möglich, dass die portable Version bereits kurz nach OpenOffice.org (stationär) erscheint.

Die Folien zu meinem Vortrag zu OpenOffice.org Portable auf dem Linuxtag in Berlin am 30. Mai sind nun online verfügbar. Sie können hier herunter geladen werden.

Da bereits seit Beginn der Woche die neue Version 2.4 von OpenOffice.org freigegeben ist, kann die Arbeit an der entsprechenden portablen Version beginnen. Seit gestern habe ich die Arbeit an OOoPortable 2.4 aufgenommen. Einen ersten Testkandidaten habe ich heute einigen Testern der deutsch-sprachigen Community von OpenOffice.org zur Verfügung gestellt. Wenn der Kandidat die Tests besteht, wird er in den nächsten Tagen für den allgemeinen Gebrauch freigegeben. Ich werde über das Ergebnis hier in den nächsten Tagen berichten.
